How to release Dogri, Kashmiri, Gojri and Ladakhi songs: stores, scripts and seasons
By the SUF Digitals team · Updated
Yes. SUF Digitals releases songs in Dogri, Kashmiri, Gojri and Ladakhi to Spotify, JioSaavn, YouTube Music, Apple Music and 150+ stores, with caller tunes on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL, from Rs 999 a year plus GST. Dogri and Kashmiri are under "All languages" in the release form; Gojri and Ladakhi are under "More Indian languages", and the stores list them under Hindi.
Yes, songs from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh can go everywhere
Census 2011 counted about 68 lakh Kashmiri speakers and about 26 lakh Dogri speakers. Both are scheduled languages, Dogri since 2003, and both are official languages of Jammu and Kashmir. Gojri had about 12.3 lakh speakers and Ladakhi about 1.1 lakh.
Dogri is spoken in Kathua, Jammu, Samba, Udhampur and parts of Reasi, and Kashmiri in the Valley. Gojri is spoken across Jammu and Kashmir, with smaller groups in Himachal, Punjab and Maharashtra, and Ladakhi across Ladakh and Zanskar. Dogri cinema has a nickname, Pahariwood, and the Ladakhi films made around Leh are called Lehliwood.
One SUF release puts your song on Spotify, JioSaavn, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Gaana, Instagram, Facebook and 150+ stores. Caller tunes on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL are included on every plan.
How to release a Dogri, Kashmiri, Gojri or Ladakhi song
For anyone searching "Dogri song upload kaise kare" or "Gojri song upload karne ka tarika", the release works like this.
Would you rather a Gojri or Ladakhi song be listed under another store language? Choose that language instead.
- Make your SUF Digitals account and choose a plan, from Rs 999 a year before GST; you keep 100% of your copyright on all of them.
- Add your artist name with your Spotify and Apple Music profile links. On a first release, mark yourself new to the stores and your artist pages are set up with it.
- Create the release and choose the language for the release and every track. Dogri and Kashmiri are under "All languages" and go to the stores under their own names. Gojri and Ladakhi are under "More Indian languages": the stores have no category for them yet, so they list the song under Hindi, and the release keeps your language with us.
- Upload a WAV or FLAC master (16 or 24 bit, 44.1 to 96 kHz) and a 3000 x 3000 pixel square cover, JPG or PNG. Try the free cover art checker before you upload.
- Credit the singers, composers, lyricists and producers, declare the rights and pick the release date. From the Rising plan up the date is yours; on Debut it is set 7 days after you submit.
- Submit. SUF checks the release against the stores' rules, and on release day your free smart link opens the song in each fan's own app.
Dogri and Kashmiri playlists on Spotify, JioSaavn and Apple Music
We found no store-run playlist just for Dogri, Kashmiri, Gojri or Ladakhi as of October 2026, and none of the four is among JioSaavn's language pages. A pitch still has a job to do.
From the Pro plan up, SUF pitches your release to the editors at Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, Gaana, Amazon Music and YouTube Music, putting your song before the people behind their wider Indian, folk and devotional playlists. We can pitch an EP or album in one go.
Lock it at least 14 days before release day, because Spotify only weighs songs pitched 7 or more days before they come out. Your own fans count here too: their listening feeds Release Radar, Daily Mix and Discover Weekly. The choice is the editors', no placement is ever promised, and SUF never buys streams or playlist spots (playlist pitching).
Titles, scripts and spelling
Dogri is written in Devanagari, the Dogra script and Perso-Arabic. Kashmiri is officially written in Perso-Arabic, some Kashmiri Pandits have used Devanagari since 1990, and Sharada is its ancient script. Gojri uses Perso-Arabic, Devanagari or Takri, and Ladakhi the Tibetan script.
For the stores, write every title in Roman letters, spelled the way fans type on a phone, and share the title in its own script in the release description and your YouTube and Instagram captions. Kashmiri is also called Koshur, and Gojri is also spelled Gujari or Gujjari, so put those words in captions too.
Artist names go in English letters with one spelling everywhere, since a second spelling makes a second artist page. Titles carry no emoji, ALL CAPS, "feat." or promo words (Official, Lyrical, Video Song, Latest, New Song, Trending), and the cover shows the same title and name.
When Dogri and Kashmiri songs are in demand
In Jammu, Lohri in January is when children sing Lohri geet and ask their elders for lohri, and at Vaisakhi three days of folk songs are held at Udhampur on the Devika river. Weddings and births have their own Dogri songs: ghodi, suhag, bihai and badhai.
In Kashmir, women sing rouf and wanwun at weddings, ladishah singers tour villages mostly at harvest time, and Kashmiri Pandit festivals bring henzae singing. On Pro and above, lock the release at least 14 days before release day so it can be pitched; for a Lohri or Vaisakhi song, three to four weeks before the festival is better.
Folk, devotional and traditional songs
Dogri devotion is sung in bhaints to the goddesses, bishanpate to Vishnu and kirtan, and its folk songs include karkan, baran and barah mah, the songs of the twelve months. Kashmir's classical devotional form is sufiana kalam, played on santoor, rubab and saz, beside chakri and the satirical ladishah.
Each track is declared as original, cover, traditional or public domain, or remix. A song handed down through generations belongs to everyone: release your own recording, mark it "Traditional or public domain", and make sure the recording is yours. A cover needs the song owner's licence, and a remix needs the original recording owner's permission.
Traditional and public domain songs never go on YouTube Content ID, which takes only original songs with no samples or non-exclusive beats. See devotional music for bhaints, kirtan and kalam.
Gojri and Ladakhi
Gojri is the language of the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities, with about 11.4 lakh speakers in Jammu and Kashmir alone (Census 2011). Its songs often tell of the community's hardships, and dastans carry its ballads and folktales.
Ladakhi is written in Tibetan script and spoken in dialects from Leh to Nubra and Changthang, with Zangskari in Zanskar. Like Gojri, it sits under "More Indian languages" in the release form and is listed under Hindi on the stores, while your release keeps the language you chose.
Questions artists from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh ask
How do I upload a Dogri song on Spotify?
Create a release on SUF Digitals and choose Dogri under "All languages" in the language picker. Add a WAV or FLAC master and a 3000 x 3000 cover, and the song goes to Spotify, JioSaavn and 150+ other stores.
Can I release a Kashmiri song on JioSaavn and YouTube Music?
Yes. Choose Kashmiri under "All languages", and JioSaavn, YouTube Music, Spotify and the other stores all receive the same release.
How do I release a Gojri song?
Pick Gojri under "More Indian languages" when you create the release. The stores list Gojri songs under Hindi for now, and your release keeps Gojri as its language with us.
Can I release a Ladakhi song?
Yes. Choose Ladakhi under "More Indian languages", write the title in Roman letters and share the Tibetan-script title in your captions; the stores list the song under Hindi.
Can I release sufiana kalam or a traditional Dogri song?
Yes, as your own recording. Mark a traditional piece "Traditional or public domain" in the rights step; a song someone else owns needs their licence first.
Is there a Dogri or Kashmiri playlist on Spotify?
We found none run by Spotify as of October 2026. From the Pro plan up, SUF still pitches your release to Spotify's editors for their wider Indian, folk and devotional playlists.
