Caller tune distribution in India (CRBT)Your song as a caller tune on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL.

SUF Digitals sets your songs as caller tunes, also called caller ring back tones or CRBT, on all four major Indian telecoms: Jio (JioTunes), Airtel (Hello Tunes), Vi and BSNL. It is included on every plan from Rs 999 a year, with no separate upload and no extra fee.

The same release you send to Spotify, JioSaavn and YouTube Music is queued for the telecoms at the same time, and caller tune earnings arrive in the same statement as your streaming royalties.

What is a caller tune (CRBT)?

A caller tune is the song a caller hears instead of the normal ringing sound while they wait for someone to pick up. Each network has its own name for it: JioTunes on Jio, Hello Tunes on Airtel, and Callertunes on Vi and BSNL. When a fan sets your song as their caller tune, every person who calls them hears your music.

In India this matters more than almost anywhere else. For regional and devotional music, caller tunes are often one of the biggest earners a release has, because the listener pays a small amount every month for one song they chose on purpose, for as long as they keep it.

How your song becomes a caller tune, step by step

  1. 1Upload your releaseSend your WAV or FLAC master and a 3000 x 3000 px cover through the SUF portal. The cover is checked against store artwork rules before you can submit.
  2. 2SUF checks and deliversMetadata, credits, artwork and audio are reviewed, then your release goes to 150+ stores and is queued for Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL at the same time.
  3. 3The telecoms activate itA few days to about two weeks after your release is live, the operators switch the caller tune on in their systems.
  4. 4Fans set it on their phoneShare the steps for each network with your fans. A short reel showing the JioTune steps over your hook works better than a plain stream request.
  5. 5You get paidCaller tune earnings appear in your statement with your streaming royalties, paid in rupees to your bank account or UPI.

Which music does best as a caller tune

Devotional and bhakti

Bhajans, aartis and mantras are set by listeners who want every caller to hear them, which makes devotional catalogues some of the strongest caller tune earners.

Regional hits

Haryanvi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu songs with strong local demand do well, because fans set the songs their community knows.

A hook up front

The caller hears a short clip, so a song whose best fifteen to thirty seconds come early converts better.

Labels with catalogues

A label plan delivers caller tunes across the whole roster, so an older catalogue can keep earning month after month.

Caller tune questions

Is caller tune distribution included in every SUF Digitals plan?

Yes. Caller tunes on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL are included on every artist plan from Debut (Rs 999 a year) to Signature, and on every label plan for the whole roster. There is no add-on price and no separate upload.

Which telecoms will my caller tune be on?

All four major Indian networks: Jio (JioTunes), Airtel (Hello Tunes), Vi (Vodafone Idea) and BSNL. Together they cover almost every mobile connection in India.

How long does it take for my song to become a caller tune?

The caller tune is queued for the telecoms at the same time as your streaming delivery. Once your release is live on the stores, the telecoms take from a few days up to about two weeks to activate it on their systems. That lag is normal for every distributor and is controlled by the operators.

How do my fans set my song as their caller tune?

On Jio, from the JioSaavn or MyJio app: search the song, tap the three dots and choose Set as JioTune. On Airtel, from the Hello Tunes section of the Airtel Thanks app. On Vi, from the Callertunes section of the Vi app. On BSNL, through BSNL Tunes with the song's tune code, which SUF can share once the release is live.

How much does a caller tune earn?

A listener pays their telecom a small monthly amount to keep a caller tune set, and a share of that reaches the rights holder every month it stays active. SUF's royalty calculator uses Rs 1 to Rs 3 per active subscriber a month as an estimate. Exact rates are set by the operators and change, so your statement is the real number.

Which songs earn the most as caller tunes?

Songs with strong regional or community demand: devotional and bhakti music, and Haryanvi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu releases. A memorable hook in the first fifteen to thirty seconds matters most, because the clip a caller hears is short.

Why do DistroKid and TuneCore not offer caller tunes?

Caller tunes are an Indian telecom product with their own delivery systems, and international distributors such as DistroKid, TuneCore and CD Baby do not deliver to them. SUF delivers caller tunes alongside your streaming release from the same upload.

Where do I see my caller tune earnings?

In the same statement as your streaming royalties, in your SUF portal, paid in rupees on your plan's payout schedule to your bank account or UPI.

Release once. Ring on every network.

Caller tunes, 150+ stores, smart links and royalties in rupees on every SUF plan.
