Royalty calculator questions
How much does Spotify pay per stream in India?
There is no fixed rate. Spotify pays from a revenue pool that depends on the listener's country and subscription. Streams from Indian listeners pay towards the low end, often less than 10 paise each, while premium streams from the US and Europe pay several times more. SUF Digitals's calculator uses Rs 0.08 to Rs 0.35 per stream for a mostly Indian audience with some international listening.
How much do 1 lakh streams pay on Spotify?
Using the calculator's range, 1,00,000 Spotify streams earn roughly Rs 8,000 to Rs 35,000 before your plan's share. A catalogue streamed almost entirely in India sits at the lower end of that range.
How much does YouTube pay for 1 lakh views of a song?
The calculator uses Rs 0.03 to Rs 0.12 per view, so 1,00,000 views of your music on YouTube earn about Rs 3,000 to Rs 12,000, depending on ads shown, the viewer's country and whether the views come from your own channel or from Content ID claims.
How much does a caller tune earn per month?
The calculator estimates Rs 1.00 to Rs 3.00 per active caller tune subscriber a month, the share telecoms typically pass through. 1,000 fans keeping your song as their caller tune would earn about Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 a month.
Is the calculator a promise of what I will earn?
No. It is an estimate from publicly reported average rates. Real earnings depend on where your listeners are, which subscription they have and the month. Your royalty statement is the real number, and stores report about two to three months after the streams happen.
How much of the royalty do I keep with SUF Digitals?
It depends on your plan: 80% on Debut, 85% on Rising and Label Starter, 90% on Pro and Label Pro, and 95% on Signature and Label Enterprise. The calculator applies the share of the plan you pick.
