Releasing your music in Dolby Atmos

Dolby Atmos is a separate mix of your song, with sounds placed around and above the listener, that plays on stores with spatial audio such as Apple Music and Amazon Music. On SUF it is included on Pro and Signature, and on Label Pro and Label Enterprise: you add an ADM BWF master next to the stereo one, it gets its own Dolby ISRC, and both go out together.
What Dolby Atmos actually is
A stereo mix folds your record into two channels. An Atmos mix keeps elements as objects with positions: a vocal centred and close, percussion spread wide, pads above. Playback systems, from earbuds with spatial audio to full home theatres, render those objects for the listener's setup.
Apple Music and Amazon Music play Atmos mixes to listeners with compatible headphones and speakers, and Apple Music features spatial audio in its own playlists. Spotify does not play Dolby Atmos music (as of 2026), so its listeners hear your stereo version.
Which SUF plans include it
Dolby Atmos delivery is included on Pro and Signature, and on Label Pro and Label Enterprise, at no extra cost. On the other plans the Atmos upload is not offered, and a release carrying an Atmos master cannot be submitted. See plans and pricing.

What you need to deliver
- A real Atmos mix, made in an Atmos-capable session from your multitrack stems and mastered separately from stereo. A stereo file cannot be converted upward.
- An ADM BWF WAV file, 24 bit, 48 kHz, with the full multichannel bed (at least 6 channels).
- Conformed to the stereo master: the same song, the same length and timing, because both versions go out on the same release.
- Its own ISRC. The Atmos version is a separate recording, so it carries its own Dolby ISRC. SUF issues one for you if you do not have one; the stereo ISRC stays as it is.
How SUF checks and delivers it
The portal checks every Atmos file the moment you upload it: a multichannel bed of at least 6 channels, 24 bit and 48 kHz. A file that fails is refused with the reason, so you can export it again before anything reaches the stores.
The Atmos master then travels with the release through review and goes out alongside the stereo version to the stores that support Dolby Atmos. Upload it on the track, next to the stereo master, in the Tracks step of a new release.
Is it worth it?
Apple Music pays up to 10% more for music that is available in Spatial Audio: since January 2024 its plays count 1.1 times in Apple's royalty calculation (Music Business Worldwide).
The cost is the mix: an Atmos mix is a separate studio job. It pays back best on songs with a long life, such as a focus single or an album, and only when the stereo mix is already strong. Atmos multiplies quality; it does not create it.
